Rental Agreement:

Our Rental Agreement form must be completed each time you rent a boat. For renters under 18, there must be a guardian signature on the rental form along with contact information.

Wind Policy:

Safety and education are top priorities at the Community Boating Center, and we take our wind policy seriously. Conditions can change quickly on Bellingham Bay and planning ahead is one of the best tools to stay safe on the water. Please refer to the wind policy below for classes and rentals. Information and links for current conditions on the Bay can be found below.

  • GREEN STATUS - Under 14 mph (12.1 knots) 
    • Anyone can rent.
    • Sailing dinghies must stay in restricted area.
    • Keelboats must stay in Bellingham Bay.
    • Rowing sculls must stay in restricted area.
  • YELLOW STATUS - 15 to 22 mph (13 - 19.1 knots)
    • Sailing dinghies must stay in restricted area.
    • Keelboats must stay in Bellingham Bay.
    • Sea kayakers are only allowed Northeast of CBC.
    • No sit-on-top kayaks, paddleboards, or rowing sculls allowed on the water.
  • RED STATUS - Above 22 mph (19.1 knots)
    • No one is allowed out.
    • A CBC boat may be dispatched to direct boaters back to the CBC.
