Youthnet

Youthnet is an expansive nonprofit that licenses foster families in Whatcom, Skagit, Island, San Juan, Snohomish, King, Pierce, Kitsap, Clallam, Jefferson & Gray’s Harbor counties. Youthnet’s mission is to provide caring and supportive educational and social services to youth and families to help them attain a productive and successful life.

The organization’s vision is “to contribute to building a foundation for healthy individuals and families based on the practice of equity, diversity and inclusion for all those [they] serve and support in the effort to create a stronger, more unified community.”

We provide unlimited free rentals for Youthnet kids and their case managers to get out on Bellingham Bay. Their mission, paired with our boats and waterfront access, resulted in some awesome, therapeutic adventures for Youthnet kids this summer. We look forward to expanding our partnership with Youthnet as we believe equitable and open access to recreation is an invaluable social service.

“The CBC has been an incredible resource for our organization. At Youthnet, we have youth who come from challenging backgrounds and have suffered from multiple placements and traumatizing family or origin situations. We are so grateful for the CBC in providing generously to our organization so that we could get our youth out on the water this summer. I watched one of our youth gain awareness of abilities that he didn't know he possessed by going from a tandem kayak to his own sit on top kayak. In short, the CBC provided access for our youth to explore, grow, and gain confidence through the therapeutic waters of Bellingham Bay.”
