Why the Community Boating Center?
The Community Boating Center is a dynamic organization working to build a connection between our constituents and the incredible power of being on the water. At the surface its a relatively simple mission, to forge that connection for people because we believe it will make their lives better. Wind and water have a profound impact on us, the independence and confidence the is experienced through our offerings can catalyze positive change in our community. For people from all walks of life we create opportunities to grow personally and find community. We are the “third” place for many, combining elements of an outdoor recreation school with a community center. It takes a village to do what we do, our organization would not exist without the incredible support of our constituents.
At this point we are in a period of growth and evolution, well outfitted with talented and motivated staff and volunteers, and the understanding that recreation is therapy and is more vital than ever before.
We are looking to find staff that will help us fulfill the vast potential of the CBC. We have weathered the pandemic and emerge debt free, and on course to serve innovative and engaging programs. We believe that we can help solve the problems that face the world today. We view this work as more than just a casual, entertaining day on the bay. Offering an understanding of marine ecology and stewardship in all of our programs give people not only the how, but the why and what’s next with the marine world. Shamelessly, we aim to “set the hook” and create lifelong boaters
