"I saw a post about the Middle School Sailing Team...
...and jumped at the opportunity. My child had never been sailing before and we were hesitant. Over the next 5 weeks I saw this team grow as a whole. My child was smiling more, talking more, it was like his soul was set free from being inside so much during this pandemic. We can’t wait to come back for the next season!”
"I had a bad river kayaking accident a few years ago...
I felt super nervous about getting in the water. My Essentials of Sea Kayaking instructor was amazing! She made sure we all felt confident and safe and she made sure to answer all our questions! By the end of the class I wanted to just stay in the water! I can't wait to take more classes! Thanks!”
“I loved the Mother's Day Paddle! My 18-year-old daughter and I...
...enjoyed having a fun, easy paddle, and since we had two boats I could show her how to "raft up" and other little techniques of kayaking with another person. I'm quite familiar with kayaking, but I haven't had much time to go out very far as a single parent. I appreciated the refresher! The card table and flowers provided for the Moms was a really sweet touch."
“I was introduced to the CBC during the first summer of COVID...
My wife and I, new to town, took the Beginner Keelboat Sailing class on Bellingham Bay. Our instructor made this a fun and engaging educational experience! Since then we have been back many times; to paddle board, kayak and, yes, to sail. The staff and volunteers at CBC have always worked hard to make our visits a special experience. Whether you are visiting or a long time B'hamster, the CBC is the place to get on the water!"
