Peter Marcus, regarded by many as the heartbeat of the local paddling community, recently made a significant donation to sustain the Post Point Webcam. This generous act is consistent with Peter’s humanitarian nature. He organizes the Paddle-4-Food relays that have raised over $150,000 for the food bank during the last two decades. He paddles in cancer fundraisers, including some lasting 24 hours! He is a respected water-sports coach of youth and adults. He is a superstar organizer of training sessions on Lake Whatcom and the Bay, boat parades, film festivals, and his signature competitive event, the Bellingham Bay Rough Water Race, which each spring marks the true start of the local boating season. Known for championing efforts to support others, he is also an elite class athlete. Peter has amassed a boatload of top-tier race finishes regionally and around the Pacific Rim in outrigger canoes and high performance kayaks, always spreading the joy and fun of paddling during his journeys.
Thank you Peter for your much-appreciated gift. And thank you for being such a gift to your community.
