Warriors on the Water
At CBC we value the brave men and women who have served our country.
We want to say thanks by getting our Military & first responders on the bay!
CBC’s sailing programs for veterans offer more than recreation — they promote confidence & camaraderie on the Salish Sea by offering:
Safe space for healing and recovery
Opportunities to rebuild confidence and teamwork
Pathways to belonging and purpose
“Mike is an exceptional instructor… Safety is absolute. Learning can be by error. I felt seen, guided, and supported the whole time. Mike taught with calm, respect, and patience. I want to push myself, and this was the perfect introduction to do just that—safely, with trust.”
“A little bit of time where my brain didn’t tell me to keep a constant scan for threats. 2020 was a rough year. A day on the water gave me something I hadn’t felt in a long time: calm. For a few hours, I didn’t have to be on high alert. I got to breathe, to learn, to connect. I’d recommend this to every vet.”
“Today was a special day, I will always remember it... I was nervous—new people, new surroundings. But Mike and Dirk saw that and helped me ease in. I built confidence, learned to sail, and felt like I was part of a team again. The teamwork, the coaching, the kindness—it meant everything.”
